Thiyagarajar College of Engineering is one of the top government aided autonomous colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The seats are filled in 2 categories:

1. Through TNEA counselling (where almost 90% of the seats are filled)

2. Through Merit Management quota(where maximum of 5-10% of the seats are filled).

For claiming a seat through merit management quota, there is no donation fee. The fees structure is not so exactly known. As per the reviews given by the students of this college, the fees for merit management quota is 90000- 100000.
