Hello Candidate,
There are two types of quotas for these seats.
AIQ (All India Quota)
Quota set by the government
AIQ seats account for 15% of all seats in government medical colleges, while state quota seats account for the remaining 85%.
According to the NEET UG 2019 result from the previous year, aspirants in the general category must score at least 134 points (50 percentile). General-PH 45th and SC/OBC/ST, on the other hand, require 107 points (40 percentile).
So , if you are a general category then the minimum marks you should get is around 600+ then only you can get any government college
Hello Aspirant
These seats are divided into 2 types of Quota.
- AIQ (All India Quota)
- State Quota
In all government medical colleges, 15% of seats are reserved for AIQ and remaining 85% seats are for state Quota.
As per the last year’s result of NEET UG 2019,General category aspirants need minimum 134 marks (50 percentile). On the other hand General-PH 45th and SC/OBC/ST requires 107 marks (40 percentile).

Hello
Admission to medical colleges is done on the basis of performance of candidates in the NEET examination.
There are two types of cutoffs:
Qualifying cutoff and Admission cutoff.
Qualifying cutoff
is the minimum cutoff percentile and scores needed to qualify the entrance exam. Candidates who qualify this cutoff are only eligible to apply for admission.
Admission cutoff is the cutoff which is declared by the colleges for admitting students.
NEET 2020 qualifying cutoff percentile is as follows:
General- 50th
General-PH- 45th
SC/ST/OBC- 40th
SC/ST/OBC-PH- 40th
Scores equivalent to percentile will be announced along with the NEET 2020 result.
Now, for admission to government medical colleges, there are two types of seats. All India Quota seats and State quota seats.
Cutoff required for admission varies category wise, state wise, college wise depending on many factors. Some of the factors determining the cutoff are:
Number of candidates appeared for exam
Difficulty level of exam
Total seats available
To get admission through 15 percent All India Quota, you should aim to secure 600+ marks in the NEET exam and for state quota seats aim 550+ marks to get admission in government colleges.
However, kindly mention your home state, category then we can provide you the information more accurately.

Dear Student,
There is nothing called passing marks in NEET Exam. In NEET, it is qualifying marks rather which is 50th percentile for general category and 40th percentile for reserved categories. Try to score 550+. Then you'll definitely get a good medical college.
If you want to score good marks in NEET then just follow simple steps -
Clear your basic concepts.
Be thorough with NCERT textbook. Its a must.
Solve previous year question papers.
Take mock tests to assess your progress.
Solve questions from any reference book you prefer for competitive exams
Solve as much as numerical possible.
Use shortcuts to solve to save your time. Formulas to be at your Fingertips.

Hi frnds I am going to give my 12th ISC exam in 2018 and I am from westbengal nd i belongs to general.Does class 10 marks matters?
Plz tell me what marks is required for sitting in neet and in getting admission in a govt medical college.plz help me.
So the min. Score for getting admission in any gmc varies year to year, but this variation isn't much. ( 2017 being an exception) normally under ai cut off the score required is b/w 510-520 where as under state counsellings the score is even lower., maybe around 480 approx. Which also varies from state to state.
For reserved categories the score is even lower. For sc category the score goes around 430-440 under ai counselling and around 390-400 under state counsellings.
All the best
Cutoff are the minimum marks to quality, which keep varying Every year. Cutoffs are decided after the exam is conducted based on the 50th percentile in the general category and 40th percentile in scheduled caste and scheduled Tribes category.
That being said, the cutoff score only get you qualified. In order to get a medical seat you have to score about 560-570, that would be the ideal score for a sure shot seat in a medical college in all infia quota. For a state quota 550 is good enough.
The competition is increasing every year, even the difference of one mark might make a huge difference in the rank.
Goodluck.
Hope this helps.
It will be different for Government, Private and Deemed medical colleges.... Also it will differ you applying from All india quota 15% or State quota 85%...
Cut off of state quota is usually lower than all india quota.... Now in each of these quota its further divided into categories like OPEN/SC/ST/OBC..... Etc..
But going by the current trend a score of 480 - 550 hwill fetch you a seat in government medical college through OBC quota of state...
Best of luck

Also, since you've mentioned that you belong to OBC CATEGORY, I'll like to enlighten you with the fact that you need to score more or less the same marks as that of an OPEN CATEGORY candidate, given the level of competition these days.
Also, since NEET-UG for the year 2018 is not yet conducted it is difficult to predict if the cut offs would shift even more higher or will there be a downfall in the cut off score board.
Nonetheless, I'd recommend you to target a score of atleast 570 to keep yourself on a safer side.
Hope this helps.
