On the basis of last year JEE Mains result,the minimum marks to get admission in any NITS for general category was 95-96% but for a safer side,to get admission in top NITS you should have 98 and above percentile.

You need to score the minimum cut off percentile specified by NTA to get admission in NITs. The cut off percentile in 2020 is as follows
You have not mentioned your category. So please check the cut off percentile and if you score the required cut off percentile you are eligible to get admission. Scoring just cut off percentile is not enough you need to score above cut of percentile to have decent chances of getting seat. Cut off changes every year depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty of exam and number of seats available.
