The cut off for each institutes varies for example last year in round 2 of KCET counselling the cut off for general category candidate to get admission to Computer Science Engineering in University Visveswariah College of Engineering Bangalore was 2058 where as to get admission in to Basaveshwara Engineering College Bagalkot in Computer Science Engineering was 15358. As you can see the cut off is different. To have decent chances of getting admission to Computer Science Engineering you need to secure rank under 20,000. If you wish to get seat in a good institute then your rank must be below 5000. To secure such rank you need to aim to score minimum 80-100 marks in KCET.
