Hello,
There is no sectional cut off for JEE Main exam and qualifying JEE Main depends on the percentile you score and not the percentage of answers you answer correctly. The highest score in a particular session is given 100th percentile and the scores less than that highest score will be given the percentile accordingly. Now, while percentile is allocated if there is situation two or more candidates score equal marks then the order of priority is given as follows to allot a percentile
-
Candidate with higher Percentile Score in Mathematics will be ranked higher.
-
Candidate with higher Percentile Score in Physics will be given the higher rank.
Candidate with higher Percentile Score in Chemistry will get the higher rank.
Candidate older in age will be given preference.
The qualifying percentile is not yet declared. It will be declared after the results. The cut off in 2019 is as follows
- General:89.7548849
- EWS:78.2174869
- OBC-NCL:74.3166557
- SC: 54.0128155
- ST:44.3345172
- PWD: 0.11371730
The cut off in 2020 may increase or decrease depending on various factors like number of candidates appeared, difficulty of exam and number of seats available. You need to score minimum 110-120 marks to qualify. This is an Ideal score.
