what is molarity and molalitys
Answer (1)
Hello there!
Thankyou
- Molarity is the number of moles of a substance that is dissolved in 1 liter of a solution (we know that solution is solvent and solute combined, right). The symbol for molarity is M. The formula for molarity is moles / liter .
- While when we talk about Molality then it is the number of moles of substance (known as the solute) that is found in a certain mass of solvent given in kg, that it is dissolved in.For molality the symbol is m, the formula for molality is moles / kg.
- One major difference between them is that Molarity is affected by changes in temperature while molality is unaffected by changes in temperature.
Thankyou
