NDA(National Defence Academy) exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission). Candidates who have passed class 12 or are appearing in class 12 are eligible to appear for the exam. Additionally, candidates must be between the age of 16.5-19.5 years. Paper I is of Mathematics while Paper II includes English and General Knowledge(General Ability Test). The total duration of the exam is of 5 hours. 120 questions are asked from the Mathematics paper while 150 questions are asked from General Ability Test. For every incorrect answer, 1/3 mark is deducted as negative marking. The total marks of both papers is 900.
After qualifying the exam, candidates go for SSB round which includes various activities and at last medical tests.
After a candidate is selected, he is taken to National Defence Academy, Pune. Candidates do their graduation along with the tough army training. Then, candidates in their last year go for their respective training academics which includes, IMA, Air force and Naval Academy.
After completing the training, candidate is selected as lieutenant in Indian army and becomes a commissioned officer.

Union public service commission conducts the national defence academy and naval academy exam twice every year in April and September. The exam is conducted for the admission of the candidates to nda .
The exam is conducted in English via offline mode. The fees of the application is 100 Rs. The duration is of 5 hours.
The exam pattern contains the stages of the exam. The test is held for two papers among which paper 1 is mathematics and paper 2 general ability test. The time for each paper is 2 hr 30 mins. In paper 1- there will be total 120 questions and in paper 2 there will be 150 questions. In both the papers for each wrong answer 1/3 marks is deducted.
