what is NEST exam amd what preperation have to do
Hello Aspirant,
National Entrance Screening Test or NEST is conducted by National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar along with the University of Mumbai- Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) Mumbai. NEST is conducted by the aforesaid authorities to determine the eligibility of the candidates for admission to 5 year integrated M.Sc program in various subjects like Basic Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics at NISER Bhubaneswar or UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai.
You can check that whether you are eligible for NEST or not from the points given below :-
** Candidate must have either passed class 12th with Science stream or appearing for the same are eligible to apply for NEST.
** If the candidate has passed class 12th then the he/she must have achieved 66% marks in class 12th if belongs to General category and 55% if belongs to any of the reserved categories.
** General and OBC category candidates must have been born on or after August 1, 2001, while candidates of SC/ST/PwD categories get relaxation of 5 years so they should have been born on or after August 1, 1996 to be eligible for NEST.

NEST exam is completely based on the syllabus of NCERT class 11th and 12th science stream. So it is recommended that you should have thorough knowledge of syllabus prescribed by NCERT/CBSE for science stream of class 11th and 12th. Also practice different mock tests for it because it will improve your time-management skill and boosts self-confidence in you.
