OBC - Other backward category , this term is used by the government of India to classify castes which are educationally or socially unprivilaged. And under this, two categories fall: Creamy layer and Non Creamy Layer (NCL). Creamy layer is for the wealthier and better educated members of OBC caste. And these people are not eligible for any benefit schemes/programs by Government. For creamy layer the annual family incme should be less than 6 lakhs.
For Non Creamy layer , annual income should be less than 4.5 lakhs and these people are eligible to avail benfits of reserved category schemes.
To avail the OBC-NCL reservation in Delhi University, candidate need to submit the OBC category certificate issued on or after 31st March 2021 by the central Government of India. Certificate issued by any other authority (tehsil or state government ) is invalid.
