Dear Sridarsini,

Nuclear medicine is a 3 year course. This field involves using of radioactive substances into patients and then checking the organs functioning through a gamma camera.Radioactive substances are introduced in patients to cure diseases. To opt this course you need to have passed class 12th exam with physics, chemistry and biology or mathematics as your main subjects with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Colleges offering this course may conduct an entrance exam or even give admission based on merit list. Some of the good colleges offering this course are as follows-

  • Christian medical college in Vellore.
  • AIIMS in New Delhi.
  • Madras medical mission in Chennai.
  • Tata memorial hospital in Maharashtra.
  • Manipal college of allied of health sciences in Manipal.
  • Dr. MGR medical university in Chennai.

This field is going to emerge gracefully in coming future as this field has great potential.
