Open category means general category i.e candidate does not belong to any specific category like SC, ST, OBC.
If you don't belong to any specific category, then you are from general (open) category.
Any category candidate can apply for any college through AIQ (all India quota) . But for that your score should be really good.
Expected Cut off 2020 for Karnataka state (category wise) :
1. Bangalore medical college, 644 score and 1372 rank
2. Bidar Institute of medical sciences, 577 score and 10781 rank
3. Raichur Institute of medical sciences, 585 score and 11641 rank.
This cut off is for open category.
Cut off varies every year depending upon no of students appearing, qualifying, no of seats available, last year's trends and so on.
