As of now cutoffs for any category are not fixed by CBSE, but for reference FIIT JEE has announced cutoff to be around 86

First of all the paper was tough / tricky / lengthy whatever, due to which mostly students are scoring less than their expectations and secondly , this year the number of students qualifying for JEE ADVANCED will increase by 4,000.

Now, since last year cutoff was 80 .

Hence , this year it may not  be above 70 .It will be in range of 60-70.

So considering that ,

For OBC category it may lie somewhere between 38-45.

( Its my estimation though, it may varies)

The cut off for OBC changes year to year and is basically on basis of percentile of students marks. Last year , the cut off for OBC was 49 while the year previous, it was near 60. Therefore , it is u predictable. However, if you have above 65, you need not worry as the marks usually lingers around 50-60.

Well all you need to is the cut off marks for qualifying in the next level exam. And the cutoff is not at all fixed for any of the category it varies from year to year and depends.

There is nothing like passing marks for jee main.

But there is something called as qualifying marks.

Qualifying marks are expected to be in the range 70-85.

Jee mains does not give any passing marks they give cutoff marks,if you clear the cutoff then u r eligible for jee advance if u have not cleared the cutoff that means u r not eligible to give jee adcance.It does not mean that u fail in jee mains
