it comes in top 5 nits, so you can be sure of placements. how good you get depends on you, your hardwork. but one need not to worry about placements when he is in that good institute, self learning is the key to good job.

Placements as it is for MTech in India is not great across NITs and also IITs compared to the kind of placements the BTech batch boasts of.
NIT Rourkela is no different. Having been the placement coordinator for Civil Engineering (BTech), I can say that the placement scene for MTech was bad. There were a few PSUs who were interested in MTech Civil and a few other private companies, which offered low packages. So, if you are looking for placements in corporate after MTech, NIT Rourkela probably is not the place for you.

Placements - 100%, Last year the highest package was 35 lacs per annum, and here top most valuable companies come every year. NIT, Rourkela is ranked 2nd among all the NIT colleges in India. The placements for different branches are excellent. Especially, the computer science, civil, mechanical, and electrical branches are going with handsome packages.

As we all know that civil is a core branch and there is a huge scope of govt. Prospects in this branch. But if you concern about the placements in the college than it is good.

placement changes year to year..u can't predict about the future placements....but at that time Nit Rkl has good placements record
