What is RRB ALP, Job profile, career path and pay scale
Assistant Loco Pilot is commonly known as ALP. Earlier, it is known as Assistant Driver. The job profile of assistant Loco Pilot assists in driving or piloting the train. This job requires continuous attention and high degree of responsiveness because of nature of jobs. Loco Pilot assists driver in performing his duties which includes signal tracking, track sighting, maintenance of Locomotives, checking of engines and its parts before departure, regular monitoring of locomotives parts, etc.
ALP Career Path: ALP's next promotion is Sr. ALP followed by Loco Pilot (LP). After becoming LP one can become eligible for higher level posts like Power Controller, Crew Controller, Loco Foreman (Loco supervisor)
Pay Scale: As per RRB ALP notification this post is at Level 02 of 7 Pay commission matrix with initial pay of Rs. 19900/- plus other allowances as admissible like running allowance based on the monthly kilometres on the run
