Hello. Skin effect is termed as the non-uniform distribution of electric current over the surface or skin of the conductor carrying a.c.

The concentration of charge is less at the core of conductor. And at surface the concentration of charge is high.

Skin effect is directly proportional to frequency. So with increase of skin effect ,the frequency will also increase.

Hope that helps!

Dear aspirant,

The tendency of A.C. (Alternate Current) to flow near the surface of the conductor is called skin current. This means the concentration of current is more at the surface than at the core of the conductor. The skin effect leads to increase in ohmic resistance. It increases with increase in frequency.

Hope this helps.

Hey

Skin effect refers to the tendency of alternating high-frequency currents to crowd toward the surface of a conducting material.

The phenomenon of skin effect restricts the current to a small part of the total cross-sectional area and so has the effect of increasing the resistance of the conductor.

Thanks
