In a core branch, you will get to learn a bit of everything within the boundaries of the branch whereas in a specialization course, a particular sub-branch is focused . That sub-branch will be the main focus of your 4 years of engineering.

CSE core have the subjects that are at the core of any computer which are

CSE specialization will include courses under a particular field and delve deep into the field

• Cloud computing
• Machine learning

• Artificial Intelligence
• Computer Security
• Internet of Things
• Robotics
• Computer Vision

to name a few. These specializations will have sub courses that will help you to dive into that field in greater depth.

Like in physics Electronics is a core subject and electronics instrumentation or analog and digital electronics is a specialization.

In a medical field MBBS will be like a 'core' whereas cardiology, gynecology is 'specialization'. A MBBS graduate can treat all diseases whereas cardiologist can treat only heart patients.
