According to the story author and his friends are travelling to Basra. During the journey author tells his friends that he wants to keep otter (an animal) as a pet with him, since he has lost his pet dog. Due to this his life has become lonely. One of his friend suggested that he should buy an otter from marshes along the river Tigris in Iraq. When they reach to Basra platform that only friends mail has arrived. After some days his friends left and he was there waiting for his mails. When he received the mail he went to his room to find an otter who was accompanied by two Arabs and with a note. This was a gift from his friends and he named The Otter Mijbil. It took Mijbil a lot of time to settle in the new environment and he was totally in mud and it take a few months to get that mud out of his body and to find his true colour. Miraj loved water so much that he learned how to open the tap. Everything was to come but this was the time when author had to leave for London again. British Airlines was having a condition that no animal is allowed in the airlines so he booked another Airlines which allows the animals to be  taken with him but in a box. Few hours before flight author put Mij in the box and went for his meal. When he returned he saw that Mij was there in the box but he has created a mess and blood was dripping out of the holes of the box. He was scared and in hurry to reach the airport on time. Hi Clean all the blood stains and the mess and only 10 minutes were left for flight to take off, so he managed to be on the airport on just time. Author explain the condition to air hostess and request her to keep the box with him on his lap. When author open the box ,otter jumps out of the box, by creating confusion in the plane and all the passengers were frightened. Air hostess helps author to bring miss back and at last they were able to reach London. MS was fond of playing with Ping Pong Marbles and heap played with authors damaged suitcase. London people were not aware of otters so they think that what Mij is. Different people were having different gueses regarding Mij and shocking reaction came when a labourer ask what is that supposed to be?
