Since education is totally free however a nominee fee is collected from class 9 to 12th but student belonging to sc/st and bpl get exemption from thr fee.

You can get admission to the JNV of your district (Except Tamilnadu) in 6th, 9th, and 11th grade.
To fill empty seats and seats vacated by students who left the school from 6th to 8th standard, School organizes another exam which takes students in the 9th standard. Also, students who left the school after passing/failing 10th class examination. These vacated seats are filled by school by taking the students in the 11th standard which totally depends on the seats available in that particular school in a particular stream(Science/Arts/Commerce).
Generally, no examination is conducted for 11th class admission but if a school wants then it can conduct examination for the same. A notice is posted on the school’s website, HRD’s office, School’s notice board, DM office, and other government offices.
Normally, you need to submit the following documents:
- A valid identity proof’s photocopy such as Aadhar card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.
- 10th class mark sheet and certificate.
- Residence certificate
- Character Certificate
- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/PC)
Positions are filled on the basis of merit and 2 rounds of interview which is organized by the school in school premises.
