The SSN college of Engineering is a private autonomous institution affiliated with grade A+ by NAAC. It is ranked 37th in the best engineering colleges in India.

The college offers B.E / B.Tech, M.E / M.Tech degrees in 19 courses.

The selection criteria of this institution is:

For UG admissions :

1. Selection of candidates will be based on the Qualifying marks (Q) obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Plus Two or equivalent.

2. Q = M + ((P+C) / 2), where M, P and C are percentage marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry respectively.

3. Selection is solely on Merit.

The candidates who apply for their desired courses are shortlisted on the basis of merit and then they appear for the counselling round. The students get selected according to the seat matrix and their performance in counselling.

For PG admissions

1. Minimum 60% aggregate in Bachelor's degree

2. A valid GATE cutoff score

The candidates are shortlisted as per the above criteria and are then selected on the basis of counselling.

To apply for admission at SSN College of Engineering at Chennai, you will have to download the application form online from the college website or take the form from the college office.

To apply for BE/BTech, the candidates must have passed class 10+2 from a recognized board. The selection process is purely based on merit.

For PG course such as ME/MTech, the admission based on the entrance exams GATE or TANCET.

The complete process  for having admission in SSN College for different courses is given below:

1. Application Process: Candidates will be able to get the application form from the college office or download it from the college website. Application fees must be paid where applicable.
2. Eligibility :
   • B.E. / B.Tech: Candidates must have passed the +2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board of education with relevant marks.
   • M.E. / M.Tech:  Candidates must have a B.E. / B.Tech degree or equivalent from a recognized university. Candidates must also have a valid GATE score to apply for admission. TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) scores will also be considered.
   • MCA : Candidates must have a Bachelor degree from any recognized university with Mathematics as a subject. Candidates will also have to give the TANCET exam or any other state level entrance test to qualify for admission.
3. Selection Process: The selection process for B.E. / B.Tech are purely merit based. The candidates for M.E. / M.Tech will also be selected based on merit. But they must have a valid GATE/ TANCET score to apply.
