Simran, you can take maths if you want to be a CA.For becoming a CA maths is very important subject.

You can take maths for various other things like for CAT.

Maths is a subject which is needed everywhere. It does not have any disadvantages, only advantages are associated with Maths as a subject.

Commerce with Maths is a very great combination if yiu are good at math. Because later in life you will be facing some situation where maths is a requirement. Math gives a variety of options in future. Also it will prepare you for many competitive exams.

But on the other hand, If you are unable to solve math, then opting for it will not be good for you as it can decrd you overall percentage.

So all in all Commerce with Maths is a very deadly combination, which helos you to be eligible for many things.

Taking Maths as a subject helps you if you are planning to do courses like Chartered Accountancy , Cost Accountancy, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA ), Financial Planning, Securities Market related courses, etc. These courses need quantitative aptitude and a little bit of mastery to be good CA, CFA, CFP, etc.

The advantage of having maths with commerce is that your options open for future more as compared to without maths.  Also good colleges like d.u. and m.u. expect you to have maths. If you wont have maths for d.u. you would have to face reduction. also maths helps in graduation as well.
