If you attempt any kind of exam (competative exam) like JEE NEET CLAT and many being a Maharastra Candidate you will have an edge in the local institutions that are located in Maharashtra

For example :you wrote JEE mains and you have a good score the college that is situated in Maharashtra for jee mains is VNIT nagpur so while alloting the seats in Nagpur being a local candidate you will have 50% homestate quota in seats matrix and if you score well getting a good all India rank that would be beneficial to you
