Dear Guru

I will just write a few points from the candidate perspective :

If you clear CAT (get a high percentile), you have a good chance of getting into one of the IIMs which will give a boost to your resume and help you get placed in good management roles in the future (I think you already knew that).
If you get a high percentile, you have demonstrated that you have well rounded skills in written communication and logical thinking which will be attractive to a recruiter even if you do not go to the IIMs.
You would have improved your quant skills which are useful in general in life. So is good English.

These are few benefits to a candidate.

Mostly college in India either take there own

Test or accept cat score.
