Candidates whose parents have been residents of Chandigarh for five years preceding the date of application, even if they do not satisfy the school criteria, will be eligible for the UT pool.

At present, 15% seats are filled based on merit, while 85% fall under the UT pool, or state quota, which included candidates who passed Class XII from Chandigarh.
