Engineering Sciences ( XE) is a paper conducted mainly for the students who want to opt in future for Masters in Science from the prestigious IIT or IISc.

Since there are very few students that appear for this paper, their no. is lower than that of other mainstream students , it becomes even more easier to get into institutes for premier research. It is easy to crack this paper since the appearing candidates are less.

But XE is not recognised for recruitment for PSU.

Many students opt for this paper for pursuing higher level education like Masters or even PhD . But, there are not more job opportunities fir students seeking this paper. Because, this paper further helps in doing research and higher studies.

If you want a PSU job, then you must not choose this paper.

Older IITs like IIT Kanpur or Kharagpur have courses related to this XE. You may check it on their website.

IISc/IITs offer many interdisciplinary programs for M.Tech admission, in most of the program Gate XE candidates are eligible to apply.
