Hello Reetesh,

There can't be NEET phase 2 in 2018. According to the verdict passed by SC in April 2016, there has to be only one entrance exam to all medical colleges (except AIIMS and JIPMER) across the nation.

So unless there's some problem like paper leaks… there shouldn't be any NEET phase 2. In fact, even if the paper is leaked, it would be RE-NEET and not NEET phase 2.

Previously, in 2016, there were two phases of NEET conducted beacause the SC ruling came 3–4 days before the AIPMT exam that made AIPMT/NEET the only valid exam. To give everyone a fair chance, everyone who gave the AIPMT/NEET Phase 1, were given a chance to reappear for the NEET phase 2, while those who didn't apply for AIPMT/NEET phase 1, HAD to apply for NEET phase 2.

Later, many states who conducted their own entrance exams sought permission to conduct their own exam for one more year and from 2017, NEET was the ONLY exam for admissions to medical colleges.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
