Hello Aspirant

There is no specific degree that you need for UPSC. All you need is to have a bachelors degree i.e. an undergraduate degree.

You can take any degree of your choice. Many students opt for BA as this would help in your preparation of UPSC. There are many subjects that match the syllabus for UPSC and thus students opt for those subjects. Other than this, you can also opt for Bsc, these degrees have more research work and thus take more time out of your schedule.

Many students also opt for professional courses, such as Bcom or BBA, so as to ensure a backup plan. It is relatively tough to prepare for UPSC with such degrees.

One of the best ways to devote more time to UPSC is through distance education. Many reputed universities such as IGNOU and Anna Malai university provide distance education. Even many private universities such as Symbiosis and more have a wing dedicated to distance education.

Best college for distance course is IGNOU. It has many courses and the study material provided by the university is also very beneficial.

Best of luck!
