It depends on your steam and your area of interest. Career decisions are most important decisions in your life and it requires huge investment, time and energy.
I would say , choose wisely and choose what you enjoy doing the most. Many opportunities will come your way and there will be lots of good options in your streams but you can explore other fields as well , it's totally upto you.
AND YES, don't select any course or college because your friends have opted the same . Also, don't do anything just to show off. Do what you actually Want to do , use your Brain and make Good choices.
If you have no idea then Talk to Your parents and school Teachers about it, they'll help you out with suitable suggestions for you. And in the end Decide yourself WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, because people will give you suggestions but you have to make your career, so ask yourself, and the decide.
I'll suggest you few courses based on your stream :
HUMANITIES/ ARTS
There are variety of career oriented courses which a student can pursue regardless of its background. Few good options are:

PCM:
