Hi, textbook reading is a must so that you are good with your concepts but for preparing with textbooks you need to start early. Also if you are aiming for a high school you need to prepare through textbooks as they will help you be prepared with all kind of topics. But at the last moment or when there are only a few days left for the exam or even just 1 month left at such a stage you should use only test papers. You cannot cover all the textbooks in such a small period of time and exam papers will help you cover the maximum number of topics roughly and you will be solving those questions which are frequently being asked so it will help you in your exam at the last moment much more than your textbooks.
