What is the bond order of CO group
Hey there
CO comes in that group which has dative bonding and so students get confused so they get confused. The bond order of CO is 3 as oxygen shares two of its electrons with carbon and makes a dative bond filling it's shell. You can also simply prove it by molecular orbital theory.
Good luck
Hii aspirants
let me clear your doubt.
Bond order is the number of covalent bonds between any pair of atoms in a molecule.there fore the bond order of CO is three .
I hope my answer will be helpful for you.for any doubt regarding this you can ask in comment section.
