IIIT Kottayam campus is spread over 53 acres of land which is allotted by the Kerala government in the southern part of the state. Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kottayam was established in 2015. The institute was originally operating from their temporary campuses at Thiruvananthapuram. But, in 2019, the institute started functioning from its permanent campus at Valavoor which is situated between Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin.
