Admission to B.tech programs in all the four campuses of VIT is done on the basis of rank secured in VITEEE.

Seeing the last few year cutoff, the opening and closing rank for Computer Science and Engineering in VIT Chennai  is between 7000 to 14000 for first round of counselling . Opening Rank is 7000 and closing is 14000.

There are chances of getting  Computer Science and Engineering in VIT Chennai  in later counselling rounds if you get a rank till 16000, But this depends upon the number of available seats.

The last year phase wise cutoff for VIT was as follows

The 2016 cutoff for CSE was 33,000

Phase 1:Closing rank 1-2000

Phase 2:2001-99999

The expected 2020 cutoff is around 29000.
