Basically the first year of B.tech is common for every branch student. As they have to study mathematics, physics,  chemistry,  English, Electrical and Electronics cocepts, mechanics and fundamentals of computers. These are the subjects that are included in the syllabus for the first year of engineering. Every college and university have their own educational criteria so there might be a minor difference in the list of the subjects.

Moreover, basic computer is taught in 1st year like pointer, stack, array, trees, files, and some basic coding programs...
