It depends on the university some universities give admission on the basis of your JEE score while others conduct their own entrance test.

It is mandatory to have 60% in your 12 boards for almost all universities.

In most of the universities, the cut off for engineering is 60% in class 12. But some universities have 50-55% as their admission criteria. But, you need to clear the entrance exam conducted by the university to get branch of your choice.
