Shriya, you haven't mentioned your Category or the State you belong to. This is important because cut offs change from State to State. A Category seats belong to Private Medical Colleges. Private Medical Colleges do not participate in All India Counselling and the seats are filled through State Counselling alone. And for appearing for State Counselling you need to hold the domicile of that particular State. Or else the only other option is through Management Quota. Under All India Quota, All the 15% of All India Quota Seats except for Jammu and Kashmir, 100% Seats at Deemed and Central Universities, IP Quota seats in ESIC Colleges, Seats at AIIMS, JIPMER and AFMC are filled by DGHS. The 85% State Quota and Private Colleges are filled by the respective State Authorities. And there are 3 Categories in Private Medical Colleges. Category A is the Government Quota Seats. And only candidates of the home State are eligible to apply for these seats. B Category seats are also called Management Quota Seats and they are filled through State Coubselling and the remaining seats are filled through direct Admissions by contacting the College directly. Here the fees is usually nothing less than 40 lakhs. The last Category is NRI seats Category and you cannot apply for that. So please do help us with the Category and State you belong to.

Shriya, for a seat in a Government Medical College, you will need atleast 600-625. But for A Category seat in Private Medical Colleges you will need 550-575.

priyaankasarkar Hello Priyaanka,

First of I thank you for your valuable time in answering our questions.

Question for National (India) and State(Telangana) eligibility :-

Background

Student was born in USA and relocated to India after obtaining OCI(Over Seas Citizen of India) and Continued his education from Vth (Fifth Standard) in India, Telangana State. Currently pursuing XII Grade (Inter Second year) from a College in Hyderabad, Telangana State. By the time Students completes his XII grade he will have 8 years of continuous education in the State of Telangana.

Questions :

1) Does the student considered as local or non-local ? Because he has continuous 8 years of education in the state of Telangana?. If he is considered as local student should we select Telangana as state else if he has to be considered as non-local what option/process should we opt to show him as student of Telangana to be eligible for Telangana State category seats.

2) After the NEET All India Ranks results and the15% counselling is done at the national level, how will the student be categorized as to which STATE the student belongs, since during filling the initial application form we opted as OCI and there was no specific option to select for state in India to whi h the student belongs to.

3) Process and Procedure of Neet application form till the time seat is finalized at the National level and State Level for OCI students.

4) For AIIMS and JIPMER how does the OCI(US National) – Telangana (8 Years of consecutive education in TS the recent being Inter Second year) student be treated ?

5) In the application form once we select the OCI, the next option it shows is Nationality and once we select USA the next option is to provide the passport number.

a) Does the student falls into the 15% category at National level, I assume it is yes(After reading the notification). How will he be categorized for State of Telangana (Since no input is taking during the application processing as to which state the student belongs). As the student completed his 8 years of education in the Telangana (As per requirement and notification one should have studied 7 years in the state).

b) Will the student be eligible equally along with other local students at National Level and State level ?

Thank you in advance
