Hi There,

Let y=x^3 and u=x^2

then dy/du = dy/dx * dx/du

du/dx = 2x

therefore, dx/du = 1/2x

dy/dx = 3x^2

multiplying dy/dx*dx/du = 3x^2*1/2x = 3/2*x
