What is the difference between B TECH and BE? and Which is better for aerospace engineering?
Hey,
Difference between BTech and BE is :
B.E. (Bachelor in Engineering) |
B.Tech. (Bachelor in Technology) |
Bachelor in Engineering is a graduate level program done directly after a student's 10+2 . After a student's 12th exam, the candidate has to appear for any state or national level engineering entrance through which he or she will get admittance into an engineering college. The course of this degree focuses on theoretical knowledge needed to innovate technology and make new technical gadgets. |
Bachelor in Technology is also a graduate level program done directly after a student's 10+2 . After a student's 12th exam, the candidate has to appear for any state or national level engineering entrance through which he or she will get admittance into a college that provides technology course. There are many such universities. The course of this degree focuses on application and skill based study and is useful if one is interested in modifying structures to enhance their quality.
B.E. is considered a knowledge oriented course where more emphasis is given on the theoretical part of the curriculum
B. Tech is skill oriented which gives more emphasis on practicals
Industrial visits and internship might be essential part of the curriculum
Industrial visits and internships are necessary for B. Tech courses
both are almost same , Btech will give you practical exposure. Btech Aerospace has a good scope,so please do a complete research about the course and college you want to apply in.
one of the best college for the course is UPES

hope this was helpful.
Hi Mukesh,
There is no major difference between these two degrees in terms of value and future job prospects. Let's go back to the history of the Indian education system. After independence, there were universities that provide different degrees in arts, science, commerce, and engineering as well and some of the universities which provide dedicated engineering degrees.
Universities that provide other degrees along with engineering called their engineering degrees B.E (bachelor of engineering) and those universities having dedicated engineering degrees only called their engineering degrees B.tech (bachelor of technology).
IITS offers B.Tech degrees because they were among the first institutes established exclusively for engineering education.
No degree, B.E or B.Tech is superior to others. Both of them having a similar scope and future.
Feel free to ask your other queries here.
Good luck!
Hey Mukesh,
There is not much difference between BE or Btech in terms of placements or exposure. But the main difference is that BE is data oriented study and B-tech is skill based study. IIT offers Btech because they are the one amongst all to establish skill based study and courses.
For aeronautical engineering, both are relevent and almost same in India. Some minor subject differences would be there but overall, both are similar.
Thank you.
