Hey Aryan Vasnik,

B.Tech definitely offers better opportunities than BCA after graduation but your options must depend on the type of colleges you are getting and the amount money you want to invest in graduation.

If you are looking forward to jobs after graduation B.Tech is the right programmes. However, if you want to pursue post-graduation in the field then BCA and MCA are can be a good career choice for you. Another advantage of BCA is that you don’t have to appear for highly competitive entrance exams.

for MS , you should go for B.Tech.

Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech):

B.Tech is popularly known by the name of engineering by everyone. It offers the most specialization and is better per se as compared to both the above courses. B.Tech has comparatively the most number of students applying per year. B.Tech, on the other hand requires clearing an entrance exam almost for any college in the country. There are state entrances and there are also national level entrances which conduct their exams, rank students according to their marks . B.Tech has better placements (of course, it depends on the college as well). The IT industry is booming and much of the credit to that is due to the engineers. Candidates passing out from the top notch colleges get jobs with attractive salaries in almost all the biggest companies. Good grades, better communication skills, additional computer knowledge and incidental skills aid a student is getting an edge over other students. They have plenty of scope in both, government and private sectors.

BE and BTech are equivalent degrees just minor difference is that University which offer degree other than Engineering term it as BE, and institutions which offer only Engineering term it as Btech.

So, BE and Btech are for Engineering stream with 4year duration and has specialization like Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer science, IT, Biotechnology, Metallurgy, Civil, Production, Biomedical, etc.

BCA stands for Bachelors in Computer application which is 3 year duration course strictly defined for curriculum enclosing insights into Computer science and Information Technology.

The BCA course majorly encompasses database management systems, Computer based architecture, web Technology language like C++, Java.

As far as scope is concerned, Btech opens up plethora of opportunities across all sectors as compares to BCA which restricts itself to IT based roles.

One can pursue MCA & MBA systems after BCA.

On other hand, one can go for Mtech or MS or MBA after Btech.
