Hello,
.
College is the place where the particular level of education will be offered just like undergraduate or postgraduate but not both of them. University is the place where you can find both undergraduate, postgraduate, masters all at one place. Private and public are just the ownerships. Private universities/colleges are managed by individuals. Public universities/colleges are managed by government body

Dear Aspirant,

University is like the board for example like CBSE. Universities overlook all the important decisions like course curriculum, fee structure, etc. Colleges like schools are the entities which are abide by the rules established by the University, the syllabus University had laid out. In the college that syllabus is going to be taught to the students.

Private Universities are the universities own by some private organization or some person or a group of person. The other Universities are called government universities and they are owned by Government, like state government or central University.

Hope this helps. Thank you.
