Hii..

Main Difference :
CSE: Computer science engineers are involved in many aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers and supercomputers to circuit designing and writing software that powers them.
IT: Information Technology deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to store, protect process, transmit and securely retrieve data. IT professionals perform a variety of tasks that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases.
The major  difference between both these field is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real life processes, while, Computer Science deals with the science that facilitates these applications. To make it short and simple, Computer Science is the creation of software and hardware by using different programming skills. On the other hand, IT is just the selection of the proper software or hardware for the task.
Difference in course and core areas:
CSE: Computer Science engineering students study about design, implementation, and management of information system of both software and hardware processes. Students pursuing computer science study: Algorithms and Data Structure, Architecture, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Database and Information Retrieval, Human-Computer Communication, Numerical and Symbolic Computation, Operating Systems, Programming Languages and Software Methodology and Engineering.
IT: Information Technology deals with installation, development and implementation of computer systems and applications. Under this stream, students learn the following: Data Structures and Algorithms, Microprocessors and Interfacing, Computer Communication and Networking, Database Systems, Internet Technologies and Applications, Software Engineering etc.
Career scope:
CSE: Job openings for Software professionals is much higher in the corporate sector than in public sector. Professionals can join as junior programmer, database administrator, junior network manager, Data Analyst, Software Developer, Software Engineer, and Client-Server Systems Manager etc in the initial stage. Students have job opportunities at organizations like IBM, Intel, HP, TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, TECHMAHINDRA,CTS and Dell in India and abroad.
IT: Career options after B.Tech in Information Technology are good. IT Specialists are required in almost all range of employment fields such as finance, arts, medicine, defense, and other areas. Many opportunities are available in various IT firms all over India. Some of the leading IT Companies are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, HCL Infotech, IBM, etc.  These professional can get jobs in many public sector firms. Some of the leading public sector firms are BSNL, ISRO, CDIT, CDAC, etc.

Hey DC Rawal,

If you have an interest in computer hardware and software but you aren’t sure which career path to choose, you probably want to learn about information technology (IT) and computer science. These two rewarding careers each require a slightly different set of skills, and they each appeal to a somewhat different type of person. An IT career involves installing, organizing and maintaining computer systems as well as designing and operating networks and databases. Computer science is focused entirely on efficiently programming computers using mathematical algorithms. An IT career doesn’t necessarily require a computer science (CS) degree, although a CS degree opens certain doors that otherwise wouldn’t be available. IT professionals typically work in a business environment installing internal networks and computer systems and perhaps programming. Computer scientists work in a wider range of environments, ranging from businesses to universities to video game design companies. Both of these careers have excellent growth potential and high salaries, with software developers somewhat ahead of IT professionals in earnings.

Computer engineering involves in depth learning of programming and codes to build better programs for future whereas Information technology involves development of business skills using coding and requires good logical as well as analytical skills.

B.E. focuses more on theoretical knowledge to create new paths to understand science whereas B Tech focuses on practical knowledge and latest technology in the respective choice of your field.

Hello,

Though both the branches seem to be same but there is significant diffrence between the both. Computer Science where deals with the componets and hardware management, IT mostly comprises of the software part. Both the streams holds great scope in building future.

Hi

Computer Science Engineering has a little bit of hardware inclination whereas in information technology, the knowledge imparted is purely related to software. However, both of them are similar.

B.E. is Bachelors of Engineering and B.Tech is Bachelors of Technology. In Indian curriculum, both degrees have equal value.

Hope this information helps you!

All the best !

There is no such a major difference both are quite similar & have good scope in future. Computer science engineers are involved in many aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers and supercomputers to circuit designing and writing software that powers them while Information Technology deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to store, protect process, transmit and securely retrieve data. Difference between B.E & B.tech

In terms of application, learning, curiculum and job opportunities, both B.E. and B.Tech are considered as equivalent and valid. The fact of the matter is that the name of the courses B.E. or B.Tech is determined by the choice any particular institute/university/college applies for and what UGC/AICTE grants that institute. Except name, There is no difference in B.E. and B.Tech.

Good Luck!
