what is the difference between environmental engineering and environmental science???
There is not much difference because the main focus in both environmental engineering and environmental science course is that a student has to understand about environment.
In environmental engineering, students learn the application to engineering design and implementation. In engineering course, students cover multidisciplinary concepts that connect environmental, physical, chemical and biological sciences with engineering.
In environmental engineering, there are subjects like thermodynamics, hydraulics, mechanics, advanced mathematics, statistics and computer modeling, geophysical, water resources, coastal and ecological engineering.
On the other hand, students in environmental science study about geological science, ecology, hydrology, public policy and political theory, economics and research methodology. The focus is more on the learning and understanding aspect of environmental policies in India and around the world, it's uses, impact, disadvantages. The major focus of environmental science is on research and development.
I hope this helps.
Environmental science is an interdisciplinary academic field that integrates physical, biological and information sciences (including ecology , biology, physics , chemistry , zoology ,mineralogy, oceanology, limnology , soil science , geology, atmospheric science , and geodesy ) to the study of the environment, and the solution of environmental problems. Environmental science emerged from the fields of natural history and medicine during the Enlightenment. Environmental engineering is the branch of engineering concerned with the application of scientific and engineering principles for protection of human populations from the effects of adverse environmental factors; protection of environments, both local and global, from potentially deleterious effects of natural and human activities and improvement of environmental quality.
