what is the difference between EWS and RBA WHICH ONE WILL BE MORE BENEFICIAL which one will give more marks
Hello Aspirant,
EWS stands for Economically Weaker Section and RBA stands for Resident of Backward Areas. In Jammu&Kashmir, the J&K Reservation act 2004 provides for declaring certain areas as socially & educationally backward, to the residents of which a Resident of Backward Area (RBA) certificate is given but it is not same as in EWS because according to 103rd constitutional amendment made in 2019, 10% reservation is given to the financial poor section of General category in education and job sector at central level but the difference between both is that, RBA is state level reservation but EWS is central level.
So, now if you think that you can get admission in any institute on the basis of RBA Certificate so it is not possible because will only be applicable for J&K, no in any other part, but if you have an EWS certificate you can take admission in any institute of India against that 10% reservation.
So, it is more preferred that you should have an EWS certificate and you can apply for that if you qualifies the criteria of EWS because this certificate will be accepted anywhere in India. Note that from reservation category you did not get more marks, you just get some relaxation in cut-off score for admissions.
I hope this information cleared your doubts.
Good Luck!!
