What is the difference between general microbiology and medical microbiology , which one is better?
General microbiology places more emphasis on study of micro-organisms, while medical microbiology emphasizes more on prevention and treatment of diseases caused by these micro-organisms. Both are interesting fields with good job prospects and plenty of scope for research, but if you feel you want to study more about the micro-organisms than how to treat them - choose general microbiology. If you are interested in how to prevent and treat diseases caused to humans by these micro-organisms, choose medical microbiology. It all depends on your interest!
