Govt seats are seats available in a government/state government owned medical or dental college, whereas private seats are the seats available to students in privately owned medical and dental colleges. The cutoff ranks and mars for getting a seat in a government medical or dental college is relatively quite higher than the cutoff required to get a private seat.

The basic difference between a Govt. And Pvt. in MBBS admission refers to the college in which you would be taking admission.

A private college often run by the authority itself isn't funded by the State Govt. as a result of which the price for availing the facilities are quite high which is quite evident from the Fees of the college which ranges from 25 lakhs to 80-90 lakhs for the course.

On the other hand, a Govt. College has most of it's facilities funded by the State or the Central Govt. as a result of which you need to pay quite a less amount of fees evidently.

Not only a this, the cost of treatment at a Pvt. medical college is quite high thus the patient load is also low compared to that of the huge patient footfall in a govt. College. Thus, aiming towards a better clinical knowledge.

As far as government anda private seat are concerned both are totally different.

Suppose someone is getting a government medical college for MBBS then it is a government seat. And one who is getting a private college for MBBS is said to be from private seat.
