What is the difference between jee main and jee advance syllabus , difficulty level and book to clear it , please explain in detail

Technically, the JEE and +2 CBSE syllabus are almost identical.

It’s JEE. 11th does not go away in 12th. But if your previous concepts are strong, you will surely find the latter easier.

• MATHS: Main is Calculus which you are already using in Physics

• PHYSICS: Mechanics is in 11th. Enough said for some. For people like me who found mechanics easy, 12th will be hard.

• CHEMISTRY: More Organic, Less Inorganic. Enough said!

In 11th and 12th syllabi basics are given and if you would study NCERT books then you will crack it and secure decent ranks but for to score good ranks you will have to study hard and get more knowledge and clear your concepts sharply by studying extra books.

There is only a slight difference between the syllabus in jee paper 70% of the questions are given in such a way that the average student can solve but one needs to identify them.

LEVEL OF QUESTION

Jee mains papers contains direct questions from NCERT and the number of questions in Mains require less thinking approach for an average score of 200+ but for 300+ it requires logics and some guesses and more confidence in oneself(be careful it's not over confidence only more confidence)

Whereas JEE ADVANCED has much more logic required,much depth in subject required for scoring and getting into IIT’s as such this can be felt properly on ur side depending on ur level and it studies of u go through the previous JEE papers

PATTERN

The most complicated thing for any student and may be for the faculties also as such it creates a frightening situation in the JEE ADVANCED exam..whereas mains has the same pattern every year and also most of the coaching institutes conduct more Mains test rather than ADVANCED so Mains pattern is felt easier..and frankly speaking Mains pattern was felt difficult in 2016 rather than ADVANCED due to the partial marking..yea the paper level also matters but if level would have been same then ADVANCED was difficult rather than Mains.

Also most of the students practice single objective to their Max rather than Multiple,integer,comprehension.

SYLLABUS

There is also a slight change in the syllabus of both JEE Mains and Advanced.

1. Thermal Physics: Newton’s law of cooling; Blackbody radiation; Absorptive and Emmissive powers; Kirchoff’s law; Wein’s Displacement Law; Stefan’s Law.

1. Electronic Devices: Semiconductors; semiconductor diode: I-V characteristics in forward and reverse bias; diodes as a rectifier; I-V characteristics of LED, photodiode, solar cell and diode; Zener diode as a voltage regulator. Junction transistor, transistor action, characteristics of a transistor; transistor as an amplifier (common emitter configuration) and Oscillator. Logic gates (OR, AND, NOT, NAND and NOR). Transistor as a switch.
2. Electromagnetic Waves: Electromagnetic waves; Characteristics of Electromagnetic Waves; Transverse nature of electromagnetic waves; Electromagnetic spectrum; Applications of Electromagnetic waves
3. Communication Systems: Electromagnetic waves’ propagation; Amplitude and Frequency Modulation; Bandwidth of signals & transmission medium; Basic elements of a Communication System (Block Diagram only).

1. Electrochemistry: Equivalent Conductivity
2. Nuclear Chemistry: Radioactivity; Properties of alpha, beta and gamma rays; Kinetics of radioactive decay (decay series excluded), carbon dating; Stability of nuclei with respect to proton-neutron ratio; Brief discussion on fission and fusion reactions.

1. Biomolecules: Vitamins – Classification and functions; Nucleic acids – Chemical constitution of DNA and RNA
2. Chemistry in Everyday Life: Chemicals in medicines – Analgesics, tranquilizers, antiseptics, disinfectants, antimicrobials, antifertility drugs, antibiotics, antacids, antihistamins – their meaning and common examples.
   Chemicals in food – Preservatives, artificial sweetening agents – common examples.
   Cleansing agents – Soaps and detergents, cleansing action

1. Sets, Relations and Functions: Sets and their representation; Union, intersection and complement of sets and their algebraic properties; power set; relation, Types of relations, equivalence relations
2. Statistics and Probability: Measures of Dispersion; calculation of mean, median. Mode of grouped and ungrouped data calculation of standard deviation, variance and mean deviation for grouped and ungrouped data.
3. Trigonometry: Heights and Distances
4. Mathematical Reasoning: Statements, logical operations and, or, implies, implied by, if and only if. Understanding of tautology, contradiction, converse and contra positive.

ATTEMPTS

While JEE Main can be taken 3 consecutive times, JEE Advanced can only be taken for 2 consecutive years.
