Hey Vikas
According to eligibility, yes. Lateral entry is a scheme or you can say a path to enter into B.Tech course. After admission you are jus a B.Tech students like others in the class. Your rank and you way of entering to B.Tech couse does’nt matter and no one will ask these things after a sem or an year. After completion, you will just get a degree under the name of university same like what other students will get. You are completely eligible for the govt exams which requires graduation or B.Tech as eligibility like other students.
Now practically speaking, they are different. Lateral entry student have a good knowledge of technical subjects previoualy studied during diploma and regular btech students have knowledge of Maths and Science as they had studied these subjects during +1,+2, entrance exams preperations, 1st year of BTech which a diploma student jumps and only studies half of these subjects in 1st year of diploma which is even lesser than +1 and +2. Diploma students can do well in technical and theoretical subjects and regular degree students can do numericals or derivative subjects well. But these things does’nt matter after 2nd year of actual degree as both students learns the basics well.
Hope this helps!!
