Hello Abhishek,

The major difference between MHT CET and JEE Mains is that, through MHT CET you can get admission in colleges that are in Maharashtra and which accept MHT CET score while through JEE Mains you can get admission in colleges all over India which accept JEE Mains score.

Some of the good engineering colleges that accept MHT CET score are:

  • College of engineering, Pune.
  • Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai.
  • Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai.
  • Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune.
  • Sinhgad College of Engineering, Pune.
  • Government College of engineering, Aurangabad.
  • Bharti Vidyapeeth deemed University.
  • Shri Ramdeobaba College of engineering and management, Nagpur.
  • Dr DY Patil Institute of Technology, Pune.
  • Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
  • Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune.

These are some of the colleges where you can get admission through MHT CET. In these colleges you will see most of the students from Maharashtra and neighbouring states.

Some of the good colleges you can get through JEE Mains are:

  • National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli.
  • National Institute of Technology, Warangal.
  • National Institute of Technology, Surathkal.
  • National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra.
  • National Institute of Technology, Durgapur.
  • National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.
  • Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur.
  • Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad.
  • Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad.
  • Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow.
  • Indian Institute of Information Technology, Chittoor.
  • Indian Institute of Information Technology, Tiruchirapalli.
  • Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kota.

These colleges take admission through JEE Mains. In these colleges students from all over India take admission and so if you study at one of these colleges you will get to study with students from all over India. You will also see some of the sharpest minds studying here.

At last I would say both the exams give good colleges. It depends upon you what kind of environment you want.

All the best.
