what is the difference between M.Sc mathematics and and M.Sc mathematics education?
Hello Aspirant,
What is the difference between an MSc in mathematics, an MSc in applied mathematics and an MSc in industrial mathematics in Indian universities?
Applied mathematics :---
Applied mathematics has largely developed in response to the need to formulate and solve problems in a diversity of fields. In short, it is the language of scientific communication par excellence.
The programme (applied mathematics ) offers an environment where you can specialize in modern mathematical techniques, working closely with other academic disciplines such as physics, (industrial) engineering, logistics and computer science. You will be considered a junior member of the research department and actively participate in your supervisor’s research programme.
*****Applied mathematics distinguishes itself from pure mathematics in that it draws inspiration for its own development from interaction with related fields such as physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, economics and computer science, to name but a few.
Pure mathematics :----
In simple words, mathematics deals with study of numbers and their various calculations. The most important skills in mathematics are careful analysis and reasoning, and thus logic is the floor on which the structure of mathematics is built.
Industrial mathematics :----
It covers courses related to modeling of technical subjects as encountered in material engineering, fluid and solid mechanics, bioengineering, etc.
This may help.
Happy learning!
