Percentile is calculated by the ratio of the number of values to the total number of values . You cant say/depict your actual score from your percentile. To calculate the actual score you would need to know the number of students who appeared in the examination and the highest score, average cut offs and the highest score. while as marks are calculated based on the right questions you have attempted, out of the total marks you have obtained for the right number of questions marks from wrong questions marked are deducted from the total.

Hello there,
The marks you obtain in JEE mains or advanced is converted into percentile. Now, this percentile is not what we know as percentage. Percentile is calculated by a different formula.

Percentile= (100*candidates who obtained equal or less than the raw score) /total no.of candidates appeared

Then this percentile is converted into your rank.
Hope this will help you.
Thank you!!

Hello student there's no difference between marks and percentile, your rank will be based on the percentile you've secured in the entrance examination. As students are searching for the percentile they'll obtain for the marks they except in jee main. You shouldn't worry about marks vs percentile and waste your time in it just focus and be conscious with your studies so that you can score good in jee main.
