Below is the difference between deemed and private universities

1- It is important that the private universities will have to follow a number of norms that need not be followed by deemed universities. This means that deemed universities enjoy more flexibility as compared to private universities.

2- Deemed universities are those that are functioning with the approval of University Grants Commission as Deemed to be universities. These universities can be compared to colleges in the name of university and they will have only a single or two institutions under them.

3- Private universities operate independently on the government or public funding. The best advantage enjoyed by private universities is that they can set their own curriculum and can set their own educational standards. Generally, deemed universities are self-financing in nature and they manage their own fund requirements. But, recently an announcement was made by UGC to the effect that these self-financing bodies will also get funds from UGC
