What is the difference between SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2?

The tier 1 is the preliminary level where there is only paper consisting of 100 questions, while the tier 2 is kind of the mains stage where the difficulty level is but on a higher side. There are 4 papers which are 2 compulsory and 2 optional subjects.
